Stackable mugs: materials, testing and tooling questions

Are these stackable mugs produced on your own Liling lines?

Yes. Stackable mugs run on our exclusive Liling lines, and design, packing, QA and export paperwork stay with the same team of about 20 people instead of being passed to a trading office. That also means the body, glaze and finish are handled by the people who make them, so a change to a profile or a finish goes through one team.

Can stackable bodies be made in stoneware or bone china as well as ceramic?

Stackable bodies come in ceramic, stoneware and bone china. The choice affects weight and hand feel, and the stacking profile and glaze are matched to the material. We confirm the pick on a physical sample rather than from a spec sheet.

Do you make a 20oz stackable mug for larger cafe servings?

Yes. The stackable range runs 8oz, 11oz, 15oz and 20oz, with capacity given as nominal rim volume. A 20oz body is the largest in the range, so check the fill you need against the 15oz sample before you commit; actual poured volume sits below the rim and is confirmed at sampling.

How many print colors can a logo use on a stackable mug?

Logo print on a stackable mug can run one to eight colors, and full-wrap print uses the same range. Because the layout sits on a curved body, we show the printable zone on the free digital mockup before artwork is final, and you approve it again on the physical sample.

Will the glaze on stackable mugs survive a commercial dishwasher?

Underglaze print and decal are made for daily use, which suits a daily-service program. Commercial dishwashers vary in temperature and detergent, so we confirm your wash routine against the physical sample instead of promising one blanket rating, and the sample is where the stack and glaze are checked together.

Does each capacity in a set of stackable mugs carry its own 500-piece minimum?

Yes, each capacity is a different body, so it carries its own 500-piece minimum. Designs and colors on the same body and decoration method can be combined to reach the tier. If you need a spread of sizes, split the run by size and we quote each line separately with the same decoration setup.

Do I need a new mold for a custom stackable profile?

Existing stackable profiles use tooling we already run, so no mold charge applies. A new stackable shape needs its own mold, quoted separately with a tooling fee that sits outside the piece price. We confirm both at quotation, alongside the free digital mockup.

How do the price steps work for 500, 3,000 and 10,000 stackable mugs?

For a standard 11oz ceramic body with printing and standard export packing, the indicative rate is $2.50 per piece at 500 pcs, $2.20 at 3,000 and $2.00 at 10,000, FOB Liling. Other capacities, stoneware or bone china bodies, new molds and third-party testing are quoted on top of that ladder.

Are stackable mugs tested to FDA and LFGB standards?

Yes. FDA and LFGB reports are issued per destination market, and stackable bodies and glazes can be covered by that testing. BSCI, Sedex, FSC, Higg FEM and ISO 22000 paperwork is available on request, subject to the current audit and certificate cycle, so tell us the market and the buyer's requirement list at enquiry.

What quality checks run on a stackable mug order before it ships?

A stackable order runs against a written QC plan that covers artwork checks, in-process inspection, final inspection, a drop test on the packed carton and a photo QC report before shipment. Batch records stay traceable, so a rim or handle issue can be traced back to the run.
